Golden State Warriors Rumors: Stephen Curry Rips LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers After Kevin Love Trade, Klay Thompson, David Lee Deal Denied by Guard

Stephen Curry heard the rumors all offseason. The Golden State Warriors were pushing to get a deal done for Kevin Love that would have likely sent Klay Thompson packing. Curry was very outspoken about his disdain for the idea of getting rid of Thompson and whether his words were heard or not, the Warriors did not get Love and the Cleveland Cavaliers did instead. Now with LeBron James and Company looking like title contenders, Curry is saying the Warriors are better.

Curry is doing a little preseason trash talking. Supporting his team despite the denial of the Love trade, the guard believes that not only are the Warriors a better team than the Cavaliers, but that he is a better player than James. Bold words, Baby Face Assassin.

"A better offensive player, me or LeBron? That's the first time I've ever been asked that question. Me," Curry said, via the "The Dan Patrick Show." "He obviously demands a lot of attention on the floor, but I like to say I can distribute, get my teammates involved and be a playmaker as well."

Statistically speaking, the two players are even according the board. Curry led James in assists per game and total 3-point shots. However, James bear the guard in points per game and field goal percentage. Both players ranked in the top 10 for player efficiency. Curry has every right to be confident in his abilities and this will certainly make an excellent storyline when the two face off at some point in the upcoming season.

Curry certainly has a lot to say since the Warriors lost out on the Love trade. He noted that he was more than pleased Thompson would be returning over the forward, believing the Warriors are better off for it in the long run. Curry noted that he was asked by team officials what he thought about the idea of the trade and he said the Warriors would be giving up too much to get Love no matter how good he is. The original trade package consisted of Thompson and David Lee. Andrew Bogut's name was toss around as well.

"I don't think you can give up Klay to make that happen," Curry said. "We have such a good core together. You got David Lee, Andrew Bogut ... We were a great team last year. Put the same core together another year, we gotta get better, right? That's the mission. I gotta hopefully prove that message right this year."
