The Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles are playing live on the Week 3 NFL preseason schedule and the game from Lincoln Financial Field opens Thursday night football and the game is on NFL Network and starts up past 7:30 pm ET online live streaming and on radio for the Pennsylvania rivalry and comes after Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blunt were arrested for weed ahead of the matchup and the third week is normally the most important for the preseason.
The Steelers will have to deal with Bell and Blount eventually, but they are expected to play and this comes after their arrest. The two players are expected to be the top running backs on the team and they were going to be relied upon heavily. Bell had a nice season with over 1,000 total yards after being injured to start, while Blount signed a two year deal in the offseason to move from the Patriots to the Steelers.
The Eagles come in after making the playoffs last season and they return all the key players apart from DeSean Jackson on offense. Nick Foles had a breakout year and McCoy was one of the best players in football, while Riley Cooper emerged as a solid WR. The team now has Cooper, Jeremy Maclin back healthy and rookie Jordan Matthews and those players will have to step up for Jackson, but put up career high numbers before he was cut and then signed with the division rival Washington Redskins.
The Steelers have a tough start to the season with four road game within five weeks and that is hard for any team to deal with. The Steelers open play against the Browns and Ravens in two crucial division matchups before playing the Panthers and they are a playoff team from last season. The team then has winnable games against the Buccaneers, Jaguars and Browns before playing against the Texans on MNF.
The Eagles are coming off of a playoff season and they are going to be one of the best offenses in the league again with Chip Kelly coming in for year two. The team got rid of DeSean Jackson, but they should be able to make up that production with Darren Sproles and Jordan Matthews and Kelly looks ready to break them out again.
