Fantasy Football Team Names 2014 Season: Best Funny, Pop Culture and Game Of Thrones Picks

The fantasy football 2014 season is very close to starting and the team name for fantasy owners is often as important as the players they have on it and here we will give it another shot with some funny names, pop culture names as well as our stab at some Game of Thrones style names that could be fits for FF teams in Yahoo Sports, ESPN and CBS leagues.

This year fantasy football has some great draft options and before we get to some team names, here is a look at a random team drafted by a friend from Yahoo Sports and let's see what his draft strategy was. This is for a PPR league that has 12 teams and is a keeper league and keep in mind, this player made some trades last year, so they were ready up top to make some picks. The player kept Rob Gronkowski in the fourth round and Michael Floyd in the ninth round, two solid options and value for those players.

Gronk could end up a bust if he is injured this season, but at fourth round value for a player that could be in the top 10 is worth it. Last season in limited action he still put up over 100 points in this league and had 39 catches with four touchdowns. Many think that Floyd can be like an alternate number one and that comes after he had 65 catches for over 1,000 yards and five scores last season.

This player opted for Andrew Luck as his starter and while that could be risky, he has a high upside this year. Luck is coming in after passing for 23 touchdowns and nearly 4,000 yards and he is adding Hakeem Nicks to an offense with TY Hilton and Reggie Wayne as well. This team also is stacked at wide receiver, as the player picked Brandon Marshall and Demaryius Thomas in the first two rounds. Thomas was a beat last season and should be even better with Eric Decker gone, while Marshall was also a monster last year with 100 catches and 12 touchdowns. Thomas had 14 touchdowns and 92 catches and both players should match those numbers this year.

Arian Foster was a risky pick, but the owner backed himself up by picking Darren Sproles, Alfred Morris and Shane Vereen. Vereen was looking like gold last season before he was injured, while Sproles should be great in the Eagles offense and in a PPR league, as he had 71 catches last season with the Saints. Some other players on the roster include Brian Hartline, Hakeem Nicks, Greg Olsen and Steve Smith

Here is a link to some of our past team names and here are more team names for now:
