MLB Standings 2014: Division Records With AL and NL Wild Card Leaders Into August 27

The MLB wild card standings are tight in both the AL and NL with the Oakland Athletics, LA Angels, Seattle Mariners, St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants in playoff position, while division leaders in the American League and National League include the Baltimore Orioles, Kansas City Royals, A's, Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, Milwaukee Brewers and Washington Nationals.

The schedule is pushing into the end of August and things are getting tight all over baseball in various playoff races, including the AL West, where three teams are in contention for the postseason. The National League east has the Washington Nationals, while the Milwaukee Brewers are leading the Central over the Cardinals. The LA Dodgers are leading the San Francisco Giants by five games in the NL West and they are in the second wild card right now.

The American League wild card has the Athletics and Angels battling for the AL West and the first wild card, while the Mariners, Tigers and Yankees are all in the mix for the second spot. The National League has the Cardinals leading the wild card race with the Giants, while the Atlanta Braves, Pittsburgh Pirates and Miami Marlins are in the mix for the second spot.
