The MLB standings for the 2014 season are getting tight in the AL and NL heading towards September and in the division races, the Baltimore Orioles, Kansas City Royals, LA Angels, Washington Nationals, Milwaukee Brewers and LA Dodgers, while the Mariners, Athletics, Cardinals and Giants are the wild card leaders into August 28.
The AL East has the Baltimore Orioles leading the NY Yankees, while the Toronto Blue Jays have faded out a bit and are hanging around in the wild card. The Kansas City Royals have moved ahead of the Detroit Tigers and now they look to be in the drivers seat there, while the Angels are leading the Athletics by one game.
The Washington Nationals are leading the NL East, while the Dodgers are tops in the NL West and those two teams look like they will be winning those divisions. The Milwaukee Brewers are leading the Cardinals and the Pirates in the central and they have been in that position for most of the season.
The National League has the St. Louis Cardinals leading the wild card ahead of the San Francisco Giants in the second spot, while the Atlanta Braves, Pittsburgh Pirates and Miami Marlins are in the mix. The American League has the Oakland Athletics and Seattle Mariners leading the Detroit Tigers, Yankees and Cleveland Indians.
