Oakland Raiders Rumors: Greg Little, Cleveland Browns Deal Option After Release? Denarius Moore, Andre Holmes Battle to Start for Derek Carr, Matt Schaub

The Oakland Raiders announced their final set of roster cuts to get down to their 53-man roster and the most notable among them was veteran Greg Little who the team acquired from the Cleveland Browns. Little was actually predicted to be a leader among the Oakland receiving corps. After struggling with the inconsistencies of the Cleveland offense, a new environment looked to be a good fit for Little. However, it was not good enough and Dennis Allen will decide the starting group without him.

After getting drafted in 2011, Little appeared in 16 games while making 13 starts. He had 41 catches for 465 yards and two touchdowns last season, matching career lows. Little is regarded as never reaching his real potential after being a standout player at North Carolina. The Raiders rolled the dice on acquiring the receiver and things never worked out.

According to Pro Football Talk, the Browns might actually look to reacquire Little. The team released Nate Burleson, but with the suspension to Josh Gordon, they need bodies. If Little would just play up to being the receiver everyone thought he would be, the Browns could use him to help replace the production of their leading receiver. The Browns could use all the offensive help they can get. Little could make a difference if another team does not grab him first.

Meanwhile, the Raiders are still trying to figure out their starting receivers. The team cut promising Juron Criner and now Little. Right now, it appears that James Jones and Rod Streater are the two best starting options. Denarius Moore and Andre Holmes both survived cuts, but might not be considered starters right now. Mychal Rivera will line up at tight end while Darren McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew take care of the backfield. The Raiders have the option of lining Marcel Reece up at wide receiver. He is listed as the team's fullback, but has the height and size of a receiver.

The last question mark for the Raiders comes at their quarterback position. According to the Contra Costa Times, Allen has not yet made a decision regarding the starter for 2014. Matt Schaub is dealing with tendinitis in his throwing elbow, but the team remains hesitant about the idea of starting rookie Derek Carr in his place.
