The NY Yankees and Boston Red Sox are playing live on the MLB schedule on Tuesday night and the series from Yankee Stadium is a massive one for New York, as they are fading in the wild card and things start up past 7:05 pm ET as Joe Kelly and Shane Greene face off in the pitching duel in this AL East series from the Bronx.
The Yankees are coming into the game after a tough loss against the Blue Jays and they need to turn things around to stay in the playoff race. The Yankees are now four back of the Tigers and they also have a team in the Seattle Mariners to leapfrog over and it's not lost on anyone that Robinson Cano is on that team now. The Yankees are looking to get things going and if they don't start winning now, they have no chance of making the playoffs.
The Indians and the Tigers are playing against each other and that means at least one of those teams will lose every night they they play. Jacoby Ellsbury faces off against his old team and he comes in after winning AL player of the week. The Yankees have won eight games in this series so far this season out of 13 played and now they really need them as the Red Sox come into the series in last place.
