The Chicago Bears have high expectations in 2014 and fantasy football owners should look at draft options in Matt Forte, Alshon Jeffery, Brandon Marshall, Martellus Bennett and Ka'Deem Carey for Jay Cutler, as Marc Trestman is planning another big offensive year and that means some of these names could be top performers in FF leagues, especially with PPR scoring for Jeffery and Marshall.
The Bears are coming off of one of their best offensive seasons ever and that came with Jay Cutler injured for part of it and that means they could be even better this season. Matt Forte had a career season and both Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall performed like number one receivers for fantasy players. Forte is hugely valuable in PPR leagues and he should be a top pick, as he was finally able to stay healthy all last season.
Alshon Jeffery had a breakout season and looking back, it's amazing he was a second round pick, as he is looking like a major star in this league. Jeffery was great in the offense from Trestman and went for 89 catches for 1421 yards after making 24 catches the previous season. Jeffery was healthy the entire year and he had seven touchdowns and combined with Marshall to have the top WR tandem in the league.
Marshall comes in after making 100 catches and that now is his second straight season in triple digits and he also had over 1200 yards for the third straight season. Marshall had 1500 yards before last year and 1295 yards last season and he has scored 23 touchdowns in the past two seasons and should be in line for double digits again if Cutler can stay healthy.
Bennett is a strong tight end option, as he has size and speed at the position and not much competition, while Carey could be a nice handcuff, but only in deeper leagues. Marc Trestman knows how to get his team prepared and Cutler could have a massive year if he can stay healthy after signing his new contract.
Forte has the chance to be one of the best backs in football and it comes after he had a career season. Forte had injury issues in the middle part of his career, but he has only missed one game in the last two seasons and he played in all 16 games last year. Forte now has at least 929 yards in all of his NFL seasons and all but two have been over 1000 and he has shown he can be a strong receiver out of the backfield.
Last season Forte was very strong and he had 1339 yards last season on the ground to go along with 74 catches for 594 yards and he combined for 12 Tds. Forte was very strong and in the past he has put up great numbers as a receiver and he will be very strong in PPR leagues as well with Marc Trestman coming back for year two. The Bears have the chance to be a great offensive team and Forte should be the top pick along with Marshall and Jeffery in PPR leagues from this team.
