Thursday Night Football NFL TV Schedule: 2014 Season Opener Starts With Green Bay Packers at Seattle Seahawks On NBC

The NFL season opens with Thursday Night Football on NBC and the TV coverage for the Green Bay Packers at the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1 begins at 8:30 pm ET and has a live stream from the NBC Sports Live Extra website as the season kicks off with the defending Super Bowl champs as Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson battle in Washington.

Seattle has been called the favorites in the NFC and now they get to start off with a true test, as the Packers have been one of the sexy picks out of the conference to make it into the championship game. Aaron Rodgers was injured for part of last season and now the biggest key for the Packers is likely keeping him upright and healthy. The team has a deep roster of wide receiver and they will get to take on the top defensive secondary in football.

The Packers have a strong team coming back from last year and with Rodgers looking to stay healthy, he should be a very good performer this season. Matt Flynn came in and helped the team make the playoffs and Rodgers will be looking to keep the offense top 10 after they ranked sixth and seventh in passing and rushing yards per game last season. The Seahawks are tough and the Packers defense needs to show some major improvements, as they were ranked in the bottom half of the league last season. The Packers added Julius Peppers after his release from the Bears and he should be a big help to getting that defense correct for this season.

The Packers open the season with a tough stretch and that includes three road games in four weeks, including two divisional games. After playing the Seahawks, the team has a home game with the NY Jets and then they will hit the road for the Lions and the Bears in Detroit and Chicago. The team actually has three NFC North games in a row, with the Vikings coming to Lambeau the following week.

The Seahawks have the Broncos in the first three weeks of the season, but they don't have as bad of a start as the Packers, but Green Bay has the chance to win those games even with the tough slate. The team then heads to Miami before hosting the Panthers and then heading into their bye week they have a roadie with the New Orleans Saints. After the bye the team plays the Chicago Bears and the Eagles at home and they then play the Vikings, which is their last divisional game until the Lions in Week 17.

The Seahawks have a tough schedule to start the season after the Packers, as they have an early bye week and a game at home against the Denver Broncos in a Super Bowl rematch.

The NFL 2014 season schedule starts with the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers in Week 1 of the season on Thursday night and the TV coverage is from NBC and the live stream is on the NBCSN Live Extra website starting up at 8:30 pm ET as the Hawks begin to try and repeat as Super Bowl champions.
