Home Run Derby 2012 ESPN Live Stream: Watch Robinson Cano Try to Repeat as Champion

The 2012 Home Run Derby is just minutes away now.

The sluggers will soon take the batter's box and see who will reign in the competition. Robinson Cano comes into the competition as the defending champion from 2011.

With the players on the National League side, Cano has a great chance of repeating.

Only captain Matt Kemp has been in the competition before. He participated last year and only hit two home runs, which shows that although you might lead the league in homers during the regular season, the competition is a completely different animal.

Carlos Beltran, Carlos Gonzalez and Andrew McCutchen have never been in the Derby before.

Over in the American League, they will face Prince Fielder, Jose Bautista and Mark Trumbo. This is Mark Trumbo's first time in the Derby, but he is a favorite because of his sheer power and strength.

Though home run derbies are difficult to predict, Cano has to be the automatic favorite. He has a sweet and natural swing that allows him to stay on the ball and drive it over the fence.

Coming into the competition, Bautista leads the major leagues in homers with 27.

He is followed by Trumbo who has 22, while Cano and Beltran each have 20.

McCutchen and Gonzalez follow with 18 and 17, respectively.

Prince Fielder only has 15 but that is still three more than Kemp's 12.
