The fantasy football schedule is moving through Week 2 and some of the best FF pickups and free agent options include Knile Davis, Matt Asiata, Bobby Rainey, Chris Ivory, Lamar Miller, Jonathan Stewart and Isaiah Crowell after the weekend games, as those players all put up decent numbers and could continue to do so based on injuries and other situations.
Week 2 of the NFL season saw a number of injuries and with Jamaal Charles, Doug Martin and Knowshon Moreno all banged up, their backups now all have the chance to be starters. Some injuries were more serious than others, but players like Miller, Davis and Rainey all should get a bump in the coming weeks and for owners of those main backs or anyone weak at RB should look at those names as solid options.
Knile Davis is the main pickup with Jamaal Charles down, as Charles is the top back in all of fantasy football this season. Charles left the game against Denver for KC with an ankle injury and did not return and that gave way for Davis, who had a big game. Davis had 22 carries for 79 yards and two touchdowns and he also added six catches for 26 yards. Davis and Charles have similar skills and he could be very valuable if Charles loses any significant time with the injury. Charles is the top back for KC and Davis is the top handcuff option for him until he is back healthy.
The Adrian Peterson situation has Matt Asiata as a solid pick up, as the Vikings may continue to deactivate him for the time being. The situation could get worse for Peterson before it gets better and that makes Asiata the main option for fantasy owners for the next few weeks if he is out. Ivory has been solid for the Jets since the start of the season and Jonathan Stewart had a breakout game for the Panthers with DeAngelo Williams hobbled.
Moreno is dealing with an elbow injury and he will be out for a little while and that makes Miller the next sold pickup along with Damien Williams in the coming weeks. The Dolphins want to rush the ball more this season and now their top free agent signing at RB is going to be out for at least a month. Miller was basically the starter coming into the season anyway and now he has that with Moreno out and he came through with 16 rushes for 53 yards before leaving with an ankle injury. Miller has 105 yards and six catches for 26 yards this season and he is a solid RB2 in any league right now.
Terrance West and Isaiah Crowell are also strong pickups over the next few weeks, as Ben Tate will be out for up to a month with a knee injury. West had 100 yards in his first game of the season and Crowell added two touchdowns and both players have been performing well in their roles to start the season. The Browns are down a number of offensive weapons and now those players will get the chance to step up.
