Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 3: Niles Paul, Larry Donnell, Delanie Walker, Sammy Watkins, Antonio Gates Top Free Agent Adds

The fantasy football Waiver Wire for Week 3 has some nice names with Week 2 of the NFL season nearly in the books, as Niles Paul, Larry Donnell, Delanie Walker, Sammy Watkins, Antonio Gates, Andre Roberts, Mohamed Sanu, Jonathan Stewart, Lamar Miller and Kirk Cousins all good free agent options after their performances this weekend or due to injuries on their teams.

The Redskins have Jordan Reed injured and that has elevated Niles Paul and now he could be a solid starting option for fantasy owners heading through the first half of the season. Andre Roberts is also a smart pickup, as DeSean Jackson is dealing with an injury and that's not all for the Redskins, Robert Griffin is out as well and that means Kirk Cousins will be starting. The Redskins love Cousins and while they want RG3 on the field, he is injured once again and now they will need to find a way to keep winning after demolishing the Jaguars this weekend.

Antonio Gates has long been a strong option at TE, but in recent years he has slipped a bit, but not on Sunday. Gates was huge for the Chargers and now if anyone has him on the bench for Ladarius Green, it's likely time to make that switch. Philip Rivers loves throwing to Gates and after the way he played last week, he is a major start for the time being. Sammy Watkins is emerging for the Buffalo Bills, while Lamar Miller is a strong pickup with Knowshon Moreno sidelined with an elbow injury for at least a month.

Larry Donnell is another strong pickup if he is available, as the Giants have looked to him two weeks in a row and now he could be the only major fantasy threat for the team. The Giants are horrific and they have a terrible offense right now, but Donnell has been performing. Opponents are taking out Victor Cruz and with Rueben Randle showing up half the time, it appears to be Donnell as the new favorite target for Eli Manning. Last week he had a TD and 56 yards on eight targets, while this week he had seven catches on nine targets for 81 yards against Arizona.

Niles Paul is one of the stronger pickups this week, as the Redskins like to use their tight ends and with Reed out for a bit, Paul should step up into the starting role. Hamstring injuries have a way of lingering and that could keep Reed sidelined for a while and now Paul comes in after making eight catches on 11 targets for 99 yards to lead the team and he also had a touchdown. Paul already has 12 catches this season for 185 yards and he has a solid matchup this week with the Eagles.

Delanie Walker turned a big play into a career day on Sunday and while the Titans lost to the Cowboys, Walker ended up with 10 catches for 142 yards in the game. Walker also had a very nice touchdown grab and run in this game and he had the first 100-yard game of his career against the Cowboys for the Titans. Walker was also targeted 14 times and that is promising news for fantasy owners.
