Odell Beckham Jr Fantasy: NY Giants WR Return Week 3 After Injury? Victor Cruz, Rueben Randle, Rashad Jennings Struggle as Eli Manning Needs Jerrel Jernigan Backup

The New York Giants are desperate to figure out their offensive issues as the team sits 0-2 to begin the season. Eli Manning and company cannot seem to get on the same page despite having several strong offensive performers to help out. While Victor Cruz and Rueben Randle struggle to lead the wide receivers group, will the Giants finally get their first-round draft pick back on the field as New York searches for their first win of the season?

According to the New York Daily News, there is a very good chance that Odell Beckham Jr will be back on the field for Week 3. The LSU standout was the Giants' first-round draft pick as they needed to replace the production of Hakeem Nicks. Beckham was expected to be a big-play threat while also working in as a punt and kickoff returner. However, he has been suffering from the longest hamstring injury known to man, but might get to see playing time against the Houston Texans.

There are no guarantees that Beckham gets activated since his injury was scheduled to keep him out for the first three weeks. However, head coach Tom Coughlin has yet to rule him out, giving some hope that he finally steps foot onto the field. Getting Beckham would be huge for Manning. So far, the Giants' offense has not featured a pass longer than 30 yards. That could change with Beckham who thrives off the deep ball.

The Giants have already lost Beckham's replacement. The team announced that Jerrel Jernigan will be placed on injured reserve after suffering a mid-foot sprain that will require surgery. The need for Beckham is high considering the Giants need someone the lineup across from Randle. Since Ben McAdoo's offense thrives on three-receiver sets, Beckham would start right away.

Cruz thought the answer to fixing the Giants was to throw him the ball more. However, when he was passed the ball, he dropped it, continuing the offensive struggle.

"I just tune those things out," Cruz said, via NewsDay.com. "I have a very short-term memory when it comes to things like that. I understand what my role is on this team and that's to be a voice on this offense and catch everything that's thrown my way and block the appropriate man in the run game. That's what I have to do, I have to continue to do that. Catch the ball no matter where it's thrown, whether it's high or low, behind me, I have to be able to pull these balls down and catch them for my team. I understand that. Things are going to happen. There are going to be ups and downs. I just have to keep moving forward."
