Jameis Winston Suspended For First Half Of Florida State and Clemson Game After Vulgar Outburst

Florida State Seminoles quarterback Jameis Winston was suspended for the first half of the game against Clemson on Saturday after he was seen by numerous students shouting a sexually vulgar phrase while standing on a table at the FSU student union and impersonating an internet meme.

According to ESPN.com, head coach Jimbo Fisher and the Seminoles brain trust at the athletic department discussed the serious nature of the comments because of Winston's past issues with a rape and sexual assault case and decided this was sufficient punishment. Fisher said that Winston will face internal discipline for the act and that he will have to sit out for the first two quarters of the game against Clemson and Sean Maguire will start instead.

"First of all, I want to apologize to the university, my coaches and to my teammates," Winston said. "I'm not a 'me' person, but in that situation, it was a selfish act, and that's not how you do things around here.
