The Baltimore Orioles and NY Yankees are playing live on the MLB schedule on Monday night and the four game series starts up from Yankee Stadium for the final home stretch for Derek Jeter and the game opens up at 7:05 pm ET as Wei-Yin Chen matches up with Michael Pineda and the Yankees have to win this AL East matchup for any chance at staying alive in the wild card race.

The Yankees have been on the Derek Jeter farewell tour all season and some say that's why they are too far out of the wild card race now, as Jeter has struggled at the two hole all year. The team did not want to embarrass Jeter at all and while he is the ultimate competitor, he probably shouldn't have been hitting in that spot all season. The Yankees have the final home series for Jeter in his career starting on Monday and after that the team will be on the road for three games against the Boston Red Sox.

The Orioles have been killing it all season in the AL East and they locked that up earlier in the month and many think that they can be the AL pennant winner this season. Things appear to be wide open in the American League and that gives the Orioles a true chance to win the thing and they have as much talent as anyone in the league. Masahiro Tanaka came back to pitch a game for the team and now the Yankees are trying to win every matchup they can to stay alive in the wild card race, but it's a long shot right now.

Brett Gardner has been the most valuable player for the team along with Jacoby Ellsbury and after dealing with injuries to CC Sabathia and Tanaka this season, they are hoping a strong finish to the year is in order. Pineda will be on the mound for the Yankees and he is back after being injured earlier in the season and he has been solid since returning.
