Appalachian State and Georgia Southern are playing live on the ESPN Thursday college football schedule and the game is on TV from ESPNU and streaming live from the WatchESPN website as the Mountaineers take on the Eagles and the game starts up at 7:30 pm ET and comes on at the same time as the Texas Tech and Oklahoma State matchup on ESPN.
App State comes into the game after a loss to Southern Miss and they won their game before that against Campbell for the first win of the season. The team has had a rough start and that began with Michigan at the Big House and the Wolverines pushed back some history with their dominating win after the App State upset years ago. The team has been in tough games and they won 66-0 before losing by one to So. Miss and now they have the chance to bounce back and this is their first conference game.
The team has matchups with South Alabama, Liberty and Georgia State coming up down the line and at the end of the season they end with Idaho. The game against Michigan was a mess and was a stark difference from the game they played last time in Ann Arbor, which of course was the major upset. But without that win, it's likely that App State would not be on national TV.
Georgia Southern comes into the game after a loss against Georgia Tech and they have played some tough teams already this season. The team opened with a own point loss to North Carolina State and that is almost like a win when looking at the two programs. The team also has games coming up with New Mexico State and Idaho and they end the season with two of three on the road.
