According to ESPN, a league source has said that the Brooklyn Nets will know by Wednesday if Dwight Howard will be in their team or not.
New general manager Billy King is meeting with Brook Lopez's agent in L.A on Wednesday. Here we will know what the Nets plan on doing with their 24-year-old center.
If Lopez is offered a deal and he accepts, then the Nets will proceed onto the 2013 season without Dwight Howard. If a contract is not offered, then the Nets will be looking for a way to get the Orlando Magic's big man.
Ideally for the Magic, they would like to enter a three-way deal with the Lakers.
With Bynum as a young center and coming off of career-highs in 2012, Orlando could be a good landing spot.
What Magic's GM Rob Hennigan prefers is young talent. He would rather get draft picks and recent draftees and then try to convince Bynum to sign with the Magic for a couple of years.
The Houston Rockets have also expressed interest in Howard, hoping that they could enter in a three-way deal with the Lakers and Magic. If not Howard, then they would settle for Bynum.
Dwight Howard's future all depends on what the Nets and Brooks Lopez agree to on Wednesday.
