The Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings are playing on the NHL Preseason schedule on Saturday night and the game from Joe Louis Arena starts up at 7 pm ET ahead of the start of the season and this Original Six matchup and both teams will be looking to make it back to the playoffs after the Kings won the Stanley Cup last year.

The Red Wings come into the game after a win over another Original Six team in the Chicago Blackhawks and that was at home. The team plays against the Toronto Maple Leafs next and they are looking to start the season strong after ranking in the middle of the league in scoring and goals allowed last year.

The Boston Bruins come into the game after an overtime loss to the Washington Capitals and they are looking to get back into the finals after missing out last season. The team next plays the New York Islanders and they have looked good so far this preseason and the Bruins come back after ranking in the top five in scoring and goals against. The Bruins and the Red Wings are threats in the east and they could be there at the end.
