LeSean McCoy Fantasy: Philadelphia Eagles RB Embarrassed, Nick Foles Favors Jeremy Maclin, Zach Ertz, Jordan Matthews as Darren Sproles Starter Week 5?

During training camp, LeSean McCoy made the declaration that he was the best running back in the NFL. The Philadelphia Eagles star claimed he would lead the league in rushing this upcoming season over players like Adrian Peterson and Arian Foster. He did a lot of talking that so far has not been met through four weeks this season. For the second straight week, McCoy put up extremely disappointing numbers on the ground and the running back admits he is embarrassed by his performance.

Against the San Francisco 49ers, McCoy rushed the ball 10 times for a total of 17 yards. In this past two weeks, the running back has 29 carries for 39 yards. That is an average of 1.34 yards per carry. If McCoy is going to lead the league, he might want to think about stepping up as he admits to simply feeling embarrassed about his performance.

"I'm embarrassed," McCoy said after the game, via Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer. "We're just not getting it done, not executing. We had the ball enough. We didn't do anything with it."

Head coach Chip Kelly agreed with his running back's words. He noted that he team simply got beat up front and they failed to execute. However, Kelly has hope for the future. Left tackle Lane Johnson is set to return from suspension. Evan Mathis and Jason Kelce are also expected to return from injury sooner rather than later. Until the entire line comes back together, fantasy owners will be tearing their hair out over the inconsistencies of McCoy. For at least another week, McCoy can sit in the RB1 spot considering the Eagles play the St. Louis Rams in Week 5.

The Eagles need McCoy to improve because they are not getting enough production from anyone else on the ground. Yes, Darren Sproles has had his moments of absolute dominance, but he put up just four yards on Sunday. No one else has any stats on the ground outside of the 35 rushing Nick Foles has on the year. If the Eagles are going to remain balanced on offense, McCoy better start playing to the expectations he set at the start of the year. Until then, Jeremy Maclin and Zach Ertz are the two best offensive performers in Philadelphia.
