Green Bay Packers Rumors: Eddie Lacy Has Fantasy Football Breakout Game Week 5 As Pack Win 42-10 Over Vikings

The NFL Thursday night football results have all been blowouts and it happened again in Week 5, as the Green Bay Packers won 42-10 against the Minnesota Vikings and it came with a breakout fantasy football game for Eddie Lacy, who had been off to a slow start and now Aaron Rodgers is putting together quite the strong season for the Pack.

The Packers came into the game after a strong win over the Bears last week and now they got another division win in their third NFC North game in a row. The Thursday night matchups have been all blowouts and Aaron Rodgers had another solid game with three touchdowns, while Eddie Lacy had his breakout against the Vikings with two touchdowns after getting off to a so-so start this season. Lacy looks to be heating up and that's good news for fantasy football owners.

Rodgers ended up putting the team up 14-0 quickly with touchdowns to Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson and things quickly got out of hand for the Vikings. The team has Christian Ponder in for Teddy Bridgewater, but the way the Packers were playing it likely didn't matter who was under center. Lacy had 105 yards in the matchup and was running strong after averaging about 40 yards per game in the last three weeks and now he looks poised to keep it going and he also added three catches in the matchup.

Lacy now has 266 yards on the season and he will have another strong matchup in Week 6 with the Dolphins and that means he could have another big game. The Packers are right in the mix now with two wins in the division in three games and they are just behind the Lions with a 3-2 record and now Rodgers saying "Relax" to the fans has worked out the past two weeks.

Losing Teddy for this game was big for the Vikings, as they won against the Falcons last week and looked good doing it. Bridgewater was accurate and solid in his first start for the team and now he likely will be back in action next week with a long break from the Thursday game. The Vikings lost Adrian Peterson and Matt Cassel already this season and now they had to start Christian Ponder. Matt Asiata and Jerick McKinnon didn't get it done in the rushing game and now they have to find a way to bounce back after this horrible loss.

All the Thursday games have been blowouts and the last few with the Giants and Falcons have been just like this one. The Packers went up big and never looked back and now they are looking like a team that is about to go on a winning streak.
