Tour de France 2012 Stage 11: Live Streaming Online Coverage, Blog

As the Tour de France 2012 moves to the 11th, join us for live streaming online coverage.

Stage 11 might be the most serious stage in this year's Tour de France for GC implications.  The 148 km stage from Albertville to La Toussuire-Les Sybelles features two Hors category climb and a final mountain-top finish.

At the race start, the peloton is immediately faced with the Col de Madeleine, a Hors category climb which summits with 108 km to go.  An immediate breakaway should form on that climb and pressure from the peloton should put many riders into trouble.

Pre-Tour GC favorites who are down in the standings like Frank Schleck (RadioShack) or Levi Leipheimer (Omega), may try to get in the breakaway just like yesterday's stage winner Thomas Voeckler (Europcar) did.

If any sprinters are able to survivor the climb up the Madeleine, following a long descent, intermediate sprint points are available with 78 km to go.

Following the intermediate sprint, the riders will begin another Hors category climb up the Col de la Croix de Fer through the Col du Glandon.  This climb is approximately 23 km long, and summits at 55 km to go.

After the descent, the peloton will climb the relatively short Category 2 climb up the Col du Mollard which summits at approximately 35 km to go.

Following the descent of the Mollard, the peloton begins its final 18.5 km climb up the Category 1 climb La Toussuire for a mountain top finish.

If any of the GC hopefuls have not attacked prior to the climb, they will attack on the climb to La Toussuire.

With Bradley Wiggins holding a controlling lead on the GC, look for some early attacks by GC contenders such as Vincenzo Nibali (Liquigas) and Jurgen Van Den Broek (Lotto).  Early attacks will serve to put pressure on the peloton and drop Wiggin's Sky teammates.

Defending Tour de France champion Cadel Evans (BMC) has said he will attack to win the Tour, so look for Evans to work with the other GC contenders on the base of the La Tousuire to try to get major chunks of time out of Wiggins.
