MLB Playoffs Standings: Baltimore Orioles and Kansas City Royals In ALCS Series Schedule Starts Friday

The MLB Playoffs Standings has the Baltimore Orioles through to the ALCS after winning over the Detroit Tigers in three games in the American League Division Series, while the Kansas City Royals are in after sweeping the Los Angeles Angels, and this comes as the Giants are up 2-0 on the Nationals and the Dodgers tied 1-1 with the Cardinals in the NLDS.

The Orioles and the Royals each swept their respective series and now Baltimore and Kansas City will meet for the American League championship series starting on Friday. The two teams are unexpected based on what people thought to start the season, but now many have looked at the Orioles as World Series contenders, while Kansas City has won the wild card and now is just one series away from advancing to the championship.

The Royals won two extra-inning games against the Angels and one against the Athletics in the wild card game and then they bashed Los Angeles in Kansas City to sweep. The team was last in the AL in home runs this season, but they hit a number of long shots in this series and now they have taken down the top seed in the American League. The Angels are now home with Mike Trout and Albert Pujols, while the Royals are through with their group of young players and it was James Shields that pitched the team into the next round.

The Orioles were one of the best offensive teams in the AL this season and now they have a chance to make some noise in the ALCS against the Royals. The Orioles now have home field advantage straight through the playoffs because the AL won the All-Star game and this should be a great series. The ALCS starts up on Friday and now the Detroit Tigers are out after trading for David Price and their rotation of three Cy Young winners did not get it done.

The Orioles killed in Game 1 of the series while the Royals won over the Angels in extra innings and in Game 2 the Orioles came back against the Tigers bullpen. The team finished things off with a 2-1 win for the 3-0 series, while the Royals won Game 2 in extras and then won 8-3 against the Angels in Game 3 to take the series. Things start on Friday and coverage is on FOX and the first two games will be in Baltimore.
