New York Knicks Summer League Schedule: Game 1 on Saturday

The New York Knicks will embark on their 2012 Summer League Saturday against the Memphis Grizzlies.

It has been a solid break for the Knicks as they have signed and resigned important parts of their 2011 success.

They will have J.R. Smith and Steve Novak back on their bench, players who provided a spark when the starters took a breather. They also added veteran center Marcus Camby and point guard Jason Kidd.

Kidd could help serve as a mentor for last year's sensation Jeremy Lin.

Of course, with Lin having signed the Houston Rockets' sheet, the Knicks have to offer their star a contract. Everybody in the NBA is under the impression that the Knicks will match the Rockets' offer, retaining Lin.

For the Knicks, the summer league will be important as they search for the right players to matchup with their starting five.

They are currently in the battle for keeping the title of the best basketball team in New York. The Brooklyn Nets have made additions, which should make them contenders in the Eastern Conference.

Here is what the Knicks' Summer League schedule looks like.

Saturday, July 14: Knicks vs. Grizzlies at 4 p.m

Sunday, July 15: Knicks vs. Suns at 4 p.m.

Tuesday, July 17: Knicks vs. Nuggets 4 p.m.

Thursday, July 19: Knicks vs. Raptors 4 p.m.

Friday, July 20: Kncisk vs. Cavaliers 4 p.m.
