Team USA Basketball 2012 Schedule: Game 2 Against Brazil Tonight

The 2012 USA Basketball team is scheduled to face their second international opponent as they play against Brazil tonight in the Verizon Center.

The US will host the second game in Washington D.C. and it will be the last exhibiton in the country before traveling to Europe for their last three games before the Olympics.

The U.S. played the Dominican Republic on Thursday, but the matchup was not competitive as the U.S. defeated the Dominican squad 113-59.

Brazil, however, presents the team with a tough matchup.

In 2010, Brazil gave Team USA a tough time and barely lost 70-68 in preliminaries.

In 2012, the Brazilian team has Liandro Barbosa and Tiago Splitter on their roster.

They also have point guard Marcelo Huertas, point guard, who gave the US a hard time in 2010. He penetrated the defense and found open players in the perimeter.

Of course, the U.S. has some of the best defenders in the NBA and with a small lineup, they become more agile. This allows them to cover the perimeter, while playing tough defense on guys like Huertas.

They look forward to getting more production out of first time Team USA member and big man Anthony Davis.

The second exhibition game will tipoff at 8 p.m. tonight Eastern time.
