The Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets are playing live on the NBA preseason schedule on Sunday and the game is starting up at 3 pm ET in New York on NBATV as the 3-0 Nets try and stay undefeated against their Atlantic division rival and this is one of the last games for Deron Williams and Joe Johnson heading into the season.
The Nets come into the game after a win against the Kings in overtime and Teletovic led the way with 22 points, while Robin Lopez had six rebounds and Joe Johnson added eight assists. Robin Lopez will be out for a couple weeks with an injury and that is tough for the Nets, as he was one of the biggest losses for the team last season. Lopez was a major part of the team and his absence was huge last year and the Nets wondered how good they could have been with Lopez in the lineup.
The Nets next play against the 76ers on the schedule and that will be on Monday and they are coming to the end of the preseason schedule and they are looking to get things going heading into the season. The team was ranked 21st in points per game last season and they have a new coach in Lionel Hollins after the Jason Kidd situation played out. The Nets have high expectations for the season and they feel that last year was a major disappointment.
The Celtics come into the game after a win against the Sixers and that saw Jared Sullinger drop 21 and eight rebounds, while Evan Turner added 10 assists as the new offseason acquisition. The Celtics have the Nets in a home and home as their next games and they are looking to continue their rebuilding with Brad Stevens after drafting Marcus Smart this year.
The Nets preseason schedule has the Celtics and then the Sixers and after that they play the Celtics again and that leads into the start of the season. The team opens on the road against the Celtics, while the Pistons are next before the team opens at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder. After that the team plays the Wolves, Knicks and Magic after that.
