NY Jets Rumors: Percy Harvin Fantasy Football Start Week 8 As Eric Decker, Chris Ivory, Chris Johnson Options

The NY Jets have Percy Harvin ready to go and fantasy football owners are looking to start him in Week 8 and he is a good option along with Eric Decker, Chris Ivory, Chris Johnson and Jeremy Kerley for Geno Smith, as the team has a solid matchup with the Buffalo Bills and at 1-6 this is the last chance for New York to salvage their season.

Smith has had an up and down year and that is putting things kindly and now he has one of the most dynamic receivers in the league on his team, even though he can be a diva. The Jets are terrible this season and have no real chance to make the playoffs, but at least adding Harvin could make watching the team fun again. Harvin is a head case, but he also has immense talent and now fantasy owners could get rewarded after his slow start in Seattle

While it doesn't make too much sense that Harvin would be worth more fantasy wise with the Jets over the Seahawks since they are so much worse than the team, but the way the two teams run their offense could help him in that regard. Harvin comes to the Jets with just 22 catches for 133 yards in five games and in that time he also had 92 rushing yards on 11 carries and his lone TD this season was a rushing TD. Harvin is also a dynamic kick return man and he has 283 yards this season and that could be another way he contributes for the Jets.

Rex Ryan said that Harvin would likely not be on the field for "50 snaps" yet, but since the Jets already played on Thursday last week, Harvin did not have to suit up after he was traded. That extra time will help and with Eric Decker likely playing after dealing with a hamstring injury, he could find some open space. Decker is probably thrilled that Harvin is in town, as that should give him more chances to get open in the offense. Decker has 24 catches for 323 yards and three TDs and while he has been solid this season, many see him as a free agent disappointment thus far.

Jeremy Kerley just signed a new deal and he is another solid start option, as he has 22 catches for 201 yards this season and could have a big game on Sunday. Kerley has not had a big game since back in Week 3 and the addition of Harvin could help him as well. Chris Ivory had a strong game against the Patriots with 107 yards rushing and he has been a much better option than Chris Johnson.

This season Ivory has 431 yards on the ground and three TDs along with 12 catches for 103 yards. Johnson comes into the weekend a bit banged up and he has been behind Ivory, rushing for 261 yards this season and one touchdown and he also has 12 catches on the year. Geno Smith needs everyone to step up, but he also needs to play much better.
