US Women's Olympic Basketball Team 2012: 21-0 Run Helps Defeat Great Britain 88-63

The U.S. Women's Basketball Team defeated Great Britain by the score of 88-63.

They briefly trailed by 11 points in the first minutes of the game, but they turned it up a notch led by Maya Moor, who had 18 points and Lindsay Whalen chipped in 13 of her own.

The USA eventually took the lead, 24-21. The second quarter got out of hand as USA went on a 21-0 run and finished the half with a 47-32 lead.

With their tough defense, they held Great Britain to only 11 points in the second quarter.

Maya Moore led the way and scored 14 of her 18 points in the first half.

After the third quarter, Team USA ran away and held a 73-51 point lead and it had turned into a routing.

The next two matchups for the US Women's team will be against TUrkey and Croatia. These will be the team's last two exhibition games before heading to London exactly a week from now.

The U.S. Team has a target on their back as they have won the Olympic Gold four times in a row.

Dating back to 1996, no country has been able to strip the gold medal away from the U.S. Women.
