Rashad Jennings Fantasy: NY Giants Deny Return, Andre Williams Week 9 Starter Over Peyton Hillis as Odell Beckham, Rueben Randle Top Picks for Eli Manning

The New York Giants are in need of a boost. The team is coming off two straight division losses and is preparing to face the Indianapolis Colts in a matchup that features a reunion of former wide receiver Hakeem Nicks. In those  two losses, the Giants offense has been a point of discussion especially in the shutout to the Philadelphia Eagles. Hoping to get some offensive performers like Rashad Jennings back, Tom Coughlin denies the running back's return.

Jennings has been out with a sprained MCL which has hindered the Giants' rushing attack. There were reports circling that the running back could make his return for Monday Night Football, but Coughlin is making note that Jennings is simply not healthy enough yet and Jennings agreed with his head coach that he still needs time to heal.

"I just need to get to the point where I can get back to cutting," Jennings said, via the New York Post. "Right now it's linear, then eventually we'll get to side to side. When the time is right I'll be out there. Nobody wants me to be out there more than I do. Organization, Giants fans everybody can rest assured I'm doing what I can do."

Jennings was a huge boost to the Giants' offense before he got injured. In his place the team has been putting their faith in rookie Andre Williams and veteran Peyton Hillis. Williams is certainly not doing a bad job at the starting spot, but he does not offer what Jennings does. Williams admits he is having to adjust his running style with the Giants. The offensive scheme means he needs to work on patience rather than going full-speed ahead.

"I'm always about accelerating," Williams said, via Newsday. "In college and in high school, that's what I watched a lot of other backs do. They got from 0 to 60 as quick as possible and it caught people off guard. But it's a little different in this scheme. It's all about timing and being in the right place for things to open up the way they should. That's what I'm working on right now."

Williams should do well against the Colts. The team's defense ranks 26th against the run and have given up at least 100 yards on the ground in their last four of eight games. The running back could be big for fantasy points this week so New York should be able to hold their ground without Jennings on the field.
