The LA Kings and Pittsburgh Penguins are playing live on the NHL schedule on Thursday and the game from the CONSOL Energy Center starts up at 7 pm ET as the Stanley Cup champs matchup with Sidney Crosby and the east faves and the Pens come in after a huge win against the Devils and this has Los Angeles travelling across the country for the marquee matchup on the NHL Network.
The Penguins dropped in eight goals on the Devils and now the team is second in the metro division and they have played very well to start the season. The team has 11 points already and five wins and they come in after playing the Devils at home and then they will matchup with the Sabres at home after playing against the Kings.
This season the Penguins have been the highest scoring team with over four goals per game and they are also ranked first in the early going in power play percentage. Crosby has been off to a hot start and now the defending champion Kings will try and slow the team down. The Kings are second in the Pacific division and they come in after a road loss to the Flyers in overtime and they will play against the Detroit Red Wings as they head back home towards the west coast on Friday. The team is first in goals against and that makes this a very intriguing matchup early in the year.
