British Open 2012 Leaderboard: Second Round Cuts, Defending Champion Darren Clarke and Phil Mickelson Do Not Advance

The second round of the 2012 British Open is soon to wrap up and the leaderboard has been shaken. Looking from the outside in are Darren Clarke and Phil Mickelson.

Clarke, who won the 2011 British Open had a horrible first and second rounds in the Royal Lynth St. Anne.

He opened up the tournament with a +6 and wrapped up the second round with an even 70. His performance was good for the 111th spot on the leaderboard.

Phil Mickelson must have left his A-Game back in the Unites States. He performed worse than Clarke after finishing with a +8. eHe shot a 73 in the first round and finished the second round with a 78.

The projected cut for the second round is currently projected to be at +2. Ryo Ishikawa of Japan, Dustin Johnson, Vijay Signh and Aaron Baddeley are players hanging on the limbo as they have still playing in the second round.
