The San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets are playing live on the NBA schedule from TNT on Thursday night and the game is live at 8 pm ET and kick off a doubleheader as Dwight Howard and James Harden host Tim Duncan at the Toyota Center and the Rockets have been one of the best teams in the league to start the season and they have not lost yet in five games.
The Rockets have been playing very well and now the Spurs will try and get things going, as they come into the game at 2-1 this season. The Spurs come in after a win against the Atlanta Hawks and now the team is set against the Rockets before a matchup with Anthony Davis and the Pelicans. The team is fourth in the southwest division for the time being, but everyone expects the team to be there at the end of the season once again.
The team is ranked in the top 10 in points allowed per game, rebounds per game and assists and now they play the hottest team in the league. The Rockets come in after a nice win against the Miami Heat and that saw Dwight Howard put up 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Harden had 10 assists. The team plays the Golden State Warriors next and they are also looking like a great team and that could be one of the best early matchups of the season.
The Rockets come into the game second in points allowed and fifth in points per game and those two areas likely will dictate how the team does this season. The defense has already been way better than last year and they will be looking to stay in that wheelhouse.
