The Los Angeles Lakers and Forward/Center Jordan Hill have come to terms on a two-year deal worth $7 million.
The 24-year-old Hill will enter his fourth year in the league in 2013. Last season he played in seven games and started one.
He averaged 4.7 points and 4.4 rebounds in those games.
In the playoffs, Hill became a little more productive off the bench. It could be argued that his playoff performance made the Lakers really reconsider letting the forward/center go.
He played 12 games and averaged 4.8 points with 6.3 rebounds and had 8 total blocks.
Hill will joined a revamped Lakers' bench that has Antawn Jamison leading the man. Jamison immediately becomes a candidate for the Sixth Man of the Year. He is a starter that will be the key player for Kobe Bryant and Los Angeles coming off the bench.
Hill brings energy and youth to an aging Laker lineup. Pau Gasol and Steve Nash are not getting younger. The Oklahoma City Thunder, who are the front runner in the Western Conference, have the youth and talent the Lakers have lacked in recent years.
Jordan Hill is no Dwight Howard, but with the starting five the Lakers will put on the floor they should be able to tally enough points to make up for the points their defense is likely to give up.
