MLB Trade Rumors: Troy Tulowitzki, Carlos Gonzalez Targets For NY Yankees, Mets, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, Seattle Mariners?

The Colorado Rockies are willing to listen to trade offers for stars Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez this offseason and teams like the NY Yankees, Mets, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, Seattle Mariners and Baltimore Orioles are among some of the clubs that could be looking to deal, as both players are very talented, but both are coming into 2015 after injury plagued seasons.

There are many teams that could be interested in those players and after the Cardinals, Mets, Cubs and Angels were mentioned last year for Tulo, more teams could jump in this time around. According to FOX Sports, the Rockies are open and willing to trade Gonzalez and Tulowitzki and they are looking for top prospects if they make a move. The Yankees and Mets are both interesting options for both players, but the Mets don't have the money, while the Yankees don't have the prospects.

The Yankees may look at trading Gary Sanchez, but he literally has been their best prospect for years and it would be devastating to their farm system to trade him. The Yankees need to replace Derek Jeter and while Tulo has long said he dreamed of playing for the Yankees, the team likely will be weary of paying a guy as much as Tulo is owed for how much he gets injured. Rockies owner Dick Monfort in the past has not wanted to trade the stars, but with the team in a tough spot and in rebuilding mode, he may have no choice.

The GM meetings are coming up and the team likely will be shopping the players hard at the event. Both players have injury issues and those are the biggest points in moving them, especially Tulo, who is signed for more years and has $114 million due to him. The Yankees likely can afford that, but they don't want to deal with an injured player at that price. Tulo was having a great season last year before getting injured and he only played in 91 games and is now getting past 30 years old.

Gonzalez played in only 70 games and he has a $53 million contract over the next three seasons. Gonzalez may have more upside because he is younger by a year, but both players are injury prone. Tulo had a .340 average last season and had 21 home runs and 52 RBIs and he was on his way to an MVP award before he was injured. Tulo is as talented as they come, but his injuries arte too much to ignore. The Yankees can't afford to have him on the DL and with his salary in the double figured through 2020, it likely will not happen for NY.

The Yankees, Cubs and Mariners will be looking to spend money this winter and trades may not be the way they get things done for 2015. The Rockies are asking for a lot and while both players are talented, there are many risks involved due to the injuries and that could make it tough for a deal to get done.
