Miami Heat Vs. Boston Celtics As Season Opener, Ray Allen Faces Former Teammates

The 2012-13 NBA season schedule isn't due for release until later this week, but the season will open off with reigning NBA champions the Miami Heat squaring off against their rivals the Boston Celtics.

This marquee matchup will feature a few interesting moments to watch for.

First would be that LeBron James and his Miami Heat will receive their championship rings in front of the Miami faithful at the American Airlines Arena. After that the chase to defend and claim another NBA title will ensue for LeBron and company to get the job done.

The second and probably the most interesting moment would be seeing former Celtics' guard Ray Allen go up against the team he won his first and only championship with.

It'll be a bitter sight for Celtics fans as they watch Allen line up with their rival Miami. Allen has felt the pain Miami has caused the Celtics, being that they were responsible for the Celtics elimination in the playoffs the last two seasons; so many Celtics fans remain upset and heartbroken that their former marksman would make the move to South Beach.

Finally, the third would be the new look revamped rosters of both teams.

In addition to Allen, Miami acquired sharp shooting forward Rashard Lewis during this offseason. Lewis' 38.8 percent shooting from beyond the arc, alongside with Allen's 45 percent, should do wonders to Miami's three point shooting percentage as they shot only 36 percent last season.

For Boston, in the attempts to counteract the loss of Allen's long-range ability, they've acquired guards Jason Terry and Courtney Lee.

The upcoming season should be a great one and one that fans should be able to appreciate being that it's a full 82 game season.

It's set to get started on the right foot as two beasts from the east set to clash sometime in late October.
