The Miami Heat and Atlanta Hawks are playing on the NBA schedule on Friday night and the matchup is from Philips Arena and has the southwest division rivals matching up at 7:30 pm ET as Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh take on Paul Millsap in ATL and they are looking to bounce back after a loss to the Pacers.
Miami comes into the game at 5-3 on the season and they will play against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday before a game against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Hawks are 4-3 on the season and right now Miami is second in the division behind the upstart Washington Wizards, who are looking to make it two playoff appearances in a row after making it last season. Miami comes in after a low scoring loss against the Pacers and Miami will look to rebound with a road matchup against Hotlanta.
Dwyane Wade is coming back into his own with LeBron James gone and he dropped 20 points on the Pacers and Luol Deng added seven rebounds. Deng was one of the top free agent signings this summer and he has been a way for Miami to make up for what they lost with LeBron leaving. Miami is ranked 18th in scoring this season, but they are sixth in defense and eighth in assists per game and they are still looked at as one of the top teams in the east.
Wade is leading Miami in scoring, while Kyle Korver has been the top scorer for the Hawks. Atlanta comes in at fourth in the league in assists per game and they are 13th in scoring through the season so far. Atlanta comes in after a win against the Utah Jazz and that matchup saw Paul Millsap score 30 points and grab 17 rebounds, while Jeff Teague led the way with eight assists. The Hawks play against the Cleveland Cavaliers next and they come into the game ranked fourth in the league in assists per game this season.
Korver has been playing very well and he had six threes in the win against the Knicks earlier in the week and they beat the Knicks already twice on the schedule. Wade is averaging 22 points in the last four games and Bosh is looking to get back to his old ways as well, as he is averaging 21.8 points and 9.3 rebounds, which are up from the time while he was playing with LeBron James.
