The Kentucky Wildcats and Grand Canyon are playing live on the NCAA College Basketball schedule on Friday night and the opening matchup for the number one team in the nation is for the Cawood Ledford Classic from Rupp Arena and is on the SEC Network and WatchESPN website streaming for ESPN as John Calipari takes his team into the season.

The Wildcats come into the game as the favorites in the nation this year and they have Andrew Harrison coming back and both Harrison's will make the team one of the best this season. The team has Kansas coming up soon for a marquee matchup, while they play against Buffalo next. The team has the Gators in the SEC as their top rival in the conference and those two teams are the best in that group.

Last season the team went 29-11 on the year and went 12-6 in the SEC and they finish the season with Florida on the schedule. The team has Texas coming up during the first half of the season along with ranked games against UNC as well as Louisville. Kentucky opens the season with an easy game and they have Willie Cauley-Stein coming back as well after he was injured last year and the team should be primed for a run.
