Olympics 2012 Schedule: Opening Ceremonies Information, When and Where to Watch

Prior to the athletes performing on the Olympic stage, London will be decorated by jubilee and performances as they will show their artistic and creative tastes in the Opening Ceremonies of the 2012 Olympics. 

The action kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, July 27th and carries over into Saturday as the opening ceremonies will take place until 12 a.m. Eastern Time. NBC will be televising all the action. 

Rumors have it that the British open ceremonies will be witty and pay tribute to the countries' sense of humor. 

In charge of the performances are four producers; Stephen Daldry (Creative Executive Producer), Mark Fisher (Production Design)m Hamish Hamilton (Broadcast) and Catherine Ugwu. 

These four members have won grammys and have directed concerts from some of the most legendary musicians in the world. Anything from Jennifer Lopez to the Super Bowl to the Rolling Stones, these producers have been a part of epic shows.

They will be in charge of the Closing Ceremonies as well.

There are expected to be 15,000 performers for both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. There will also be an estimated four billion people watching this event. 

Following the ceremony, at 4 a.m. Eastern Time, archery will be the first competition taking place. The women's soccer teams already began competing early Thursday, but archery will take the centerstage following the Opening Ceremony.

Men's Individial archery will start at 4 a.m. Eastern Time while women's invidiual competitions will begin at 8 a.m. Eastern Time.
