New York Giants Training 2012 Camp Schedule: Super Bowl Champs Report to Practice

The defending Super Bowl champions New York Giants officially open their training camp Friday at the University of Albany campus. The first practice will be held Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. ET.

Many of the players arrived Wednesday to settle into their dorms, and the team will be putting players through a conditioning test later Thursday afternoon.

Some familiar Giants faces will be missing this year however.

Running back Brandon Jacobs and wide receiver Mario Manningham are in San Francisco, tight end Jake Ballard was claimed on waivers by the New England Patriots and right tackle Kareem McKenzie and safety Deon Grant have not been resigned.

New acquisitions include draft picks running back David Wilson (first round) and wide receiver Reuben Randle (second round), former Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Keith Rivers and former Dallas Cowboys tight end Martellus Bennett.

The Giants season opener is Wednesday, Sept. 5 in Dallas against the Cowboys. Though they won the Super Bowl, the Giants have to improve over the 9-7 record they finished with last season.

If they plan to continue to rely on Eli Manning to have some type of late game heroics, good luck.

Even Manning confirmed they'd "rather not wait to win games in the fourth quarter every time. ... When we do so it just means we didn't play well enough in the first three quarters."

Here's a look at the complete training camp practice schedule. Fans keep in mind, Saturday is Autograph Day and players will be available after practice form 3:30 - 5 p.m. for auto graph signings.
