When it comes to soccer, Brazil is widely known for having the most decorated athletes in the sport. Today, Brazil will play against Egypt in the first day of Men's 2012 Olympic Soccer. It will be the second-to-last match of the day, kicking off at 2:45 p.m. EDT/7:45 GMT.

Though greatly successful in other international soccer competitions, the Brazilian team has never won a gold medal in the Olympics. The closest they have come to success has been winning silver twice in 1984 and 1988. They captured bronze in the 2008 Olympics at Beijing and 1996 in Atlanta. 

Along with Spain, Brazil is a favorite in the Men's Soccer Olympics. 

For Egypt, they come into the 2012 Olympics with little practice time as a unit. Riots in the country prevented the team from entering into matches with opposing teams. 

In a way, this can be considered a good thing. Brazil does not know what to expect from Egypt. They do now know any of their weaknesses since the team has not played together.

The Egyptian team has been able to practice in closed environments, but it is no comparing to the pressures lived in a real game.

They will try their best to spoil Brazil's chance of winning gold and advancing deep into competition.

The Group C pool is also made up of Belarus and New Zealand. Those to nations will also meet at 2:45 p.m. ET/ 7:45 p.m. GMT.
