As the world sets its eyes on the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremonies, athletes will be getting ready to compete the next day. Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte will be getting ready to compete in the 400 Individual Medley on Saturday.
The competition will have two parts. There will be Heats at 5 a.m. until 7 a.m. ET. (10 a.m./2 p.m. GMT)
At 2 p.m. ET/7 p.m. GMT, swimmers will compete for the first swimming gold medals.

Aside from Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps swimming, who else will be competing you ask?
Ryan Vanderkaay and Conor Dwyer will compete in the 400m Freestyle.
Elizabeth Beisel and Caitlin Leverenz wil take part in the Women's 400m IM. Missy Franklin and Allison Schmitt will represent the U.S in the 4x100m Freestyle Relay.
These eight athletes will try to compete for gold. First they will have to qualify for the Finals after the Heats taking place early in the morning.
The Women's 100m Butterfly will feature Dana Vollmer and Claire Donahue. Brendan Hansen and Eric Shanteau will race in the Men's 100m Breaststroke.
Both of these last two events will determine who makes it into the semis. The Finals will take place the following day in London.
