Team USA Basketball Results 2012: Team USA Defeats France 98-71, Kevin Durant Leads U.S. With 22 Points

Team USA continues their quest for Olympic gold has they defeat NBA All-Star Tony Parker and the rest of Team France by a score of 98-71.

After a slow start in the first quarter in which Team USA led 22-21, they outscored the French 30-15 to take a 16 point halftime lead with a score of 52-36.

Kevin Durant led the way with 15 points and 5 rebounds, while LeBron James chipped in five points, six rebounds and four assists and Tyson Chandler added six points and seven rebounds.

By the second half the United States continued their dominance, pushing their lead to as far as 20 points. Durant and Kobe Bryant opened the half with a pair of three-pointers.

Durant finished the game with 22 points, James contributed with nine points, eight assist and five rebounds, and forward Kevin Love chipped in with 14 points and three rebounds. All-Star Carmelo Anthony added nine points and nine boards, while Bryant contributed 10 points for the victorious Team USA squad.

France was led by Ali Traore's 12 points, with Parker adding 10.

It wasn't a flashy win, but the United States continues to show their dominance.

During an interview after the game, Kevin Durant was asked how the team chooses which of the All Stars gets to a take a shot.

"We don't care who scores," he said.

Next up for Team USA is a game verses Tunisia on Tuesday.
