Oakland Raiders Rumors: Jim Harbaugh Trade Option As New York Jets, Michigan Wolverines Interested In 49ers Head Coach?

The Oakland Raiders may look at a trade for Jim Harbaugh after the season if the 49ers do not want to extend him as head coach and this comes as the New York Jets and Michigan Wolverines could be interested in his services as well after the 2014 season ends.

Harbaugh and the 49ers reportedly have had issues in the past and if the team doesn't extend his contract, there is a chance that another club could try and work out a trade. According to ESPN.com reporter Adam Schefter, the Raiders are expected to make a push for Harbaugh after the season, while the New York Jets also could be interested with Rex Ryan on the hot seat after the struggles in NY.

The Oakland Raiders had a very busy offseason and things did not work out at all and that could be the end for Reggie McKenzie, after head coach Dennis Allen as let go. The team came in looking at Maurice Jones-Drew, Mychal Rivera, Latavius Murray and newly-signed James Jones as potential 2014 breakout players and so far only Jones and Rivera have been consistent. Harbaugh would be a huge get for the team and could be the move that Mark Davis makes.

The Raiders have gone 4-12 in each of the last two seasons and after coming into this offseason with the most cap space of any NFL team, McKenzie used that to sign a high amount of free agents, including Justin Tuck, Jones-Drew and LaMarr Woodley. According to ESPN.com, the Raiders could look to trade Matt McGloin this offseason and it comes after trading for Matt Schaub and dealing for Matt Flynn last season. McGloin and Terrelle Pryor showed flashes last season, but McGloin couldn't sustain it for long stretches and that could lead them out of town

Pryor was electric on the ground, setting a franchise record for rushing yards as a quarterback, while McGloin had some solid moments as well, but it wasn't enough to sell McKenzie on them as long-term starters. If Harbaugh comes in he likely will look for a new QB, although Derek Carr has played well at times this season.

Adding Jones-Drew did not help the rushing attack after losing Rashad Jennings, with Jones-Drew getting older and Darren McFadden coming off of yet another injury. Murray could get the chance to step up over the final weeks of this season and could be a good starter next year. Last season Murray was injured and missed the season, but after being a sixth round pick, McKenzie has high hopes for the Central Florida product, as he was very productive in college and if he can remain healthy, he could be a potential breakout star eventually.

Rivera also has the potential to be a star, as he fits right in the mold of the athletic tight end that is taking over the league at 6-foot-3 and he could be dominant this season with the right development. Last year he came out as a sixth round pick and he had 38 catches and four touchdowns and along with Nick Kasa he could give the team a dynamic duo at the tight end position.
