The rankings might not reflect it, but the Florida State Seminoles are undefeated on the season. However, they have dropped to No. 2 in the AP Poll while falling to No. 4 in the College Football Playoff rankings. The team has scooted by their last few opponents while quarterback Jameis Winston has struggled. Now, they enter into the ACC Championship Game in need of a convincing win in order to stay in the postseason. However, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have the confidence and offense that could be the upsetter on Saturday.
Florida State has completed back-to-back undefeated regular seasons for the first time in the school's history. Their win over the Florida Gators sealed the deal despite the numerous interceptions by Winston. He was picked off our times against the Gators, while throwing 11 interceptions in his last six games. Georgia Tech ranked tied for ninth with 17 interceptions on the season.
Georgia Tech has confidence. The team is coming off a win no one predicted they would earn. The team beat their in-state rivals, Georgia, in overtime after intercepting Hutson Mason for the win. The team's triple-option offense has been giving teams headaches in recent weeks. The Seminoles saw that offense once before against the Citadel where they rushed for 250 yards. Tech has the athletes to put up the points as the average 33.8 yards on the ground. Quarterback Justin THomas with Zach Laskey and Synjyn Days all have over 600 yards a piece while ranking as the No. 3 rushing attack in the nation.
The Seminoles have a lot of close wins this season and Georgia Tech is hoping to finally be the team that beats them. Florida State has six wins this season by single digits. They have trailed in the first half during nine games including five of their last six. They team that can come out and play 60 minutes of football against the Seminoles are the ones that end the win streak.
