Washington Redskins Rumors: RG3 Trade Option If Jay Gruden Not Fired? Robert Griffin III Future Decided By Owner Dan Snyder

The Washington Redskins have major questions about the future of RG3 and if owner Dan Snyder wants to keep Robert Griffin III over making a trade, Jay Gruden could be on his way out of town if he doesn't support the move and this comes after Colt McCoy and the team struggled in a shutout loss to the St. Louis Rams at home.

The Redskins are now 3-10 on the season and they are on track to finish with a record as bad as last season or worse and they could have a new starter next week against the Giants. According to ESPN.com, the Redskins will consider Kirk Cousins in the mix as well with McCoy and Robert Griffin, as Jay Gruden said he will look at the film and make a decision at midweek. Griffin came into the game on Sunday but it did not help the offense much, as the team was shutout for the first time since back in the 2009 season. The Redskins lost 24-0 on Sunday and Griffin finished with three completions for 33 yards and he was also sacked one time.

McCoy ended up with 199 yards and two interceptions and he was also sacked six times, showing off another tough performance for the offensive line. McCoy is dealing with a neck injury and that was why he was pulled from the game and he joins DeSean Jackson on the injury report, as he sat out with a shin injury. Alfred Morris had a horrible game with six yards on eight carries and that was a career low performance for the running back.

Griffin could get some starts down the stretch for the Redskins after getting benched, as the team was ineffective on Sunday and Gruden may want to get one last look at what RG3 can do. Adam Schefter reported last week that Griffin could be inserted back into the starting lineup before the season ends, but the Washington Post was firm in saying that Gruden is "done" with Griffin and doesn't see him as a long term option at the QB position.

The past two weeks have been extremely embarrassing for the Redskins and most of that surrounds their franchise quarterback Robert Griffin. The reason things look even worse than usual right now is the two teams the Redskins have played over the past two weeks, which just highlights the issues that the team is having with Griffin now. The team picked Griffin one spot after Andrew Luck and last week when the teams faced off, Griffin was benched and Luck faced off against McCoy.

Luck and Griffin each took their teams to the playoffs as rookies and since that time Griffin has been injured and inconsistent, while Luck has turned into one of the best quarterbacks in the league. Adding to the fact that the team was shutout, the Rams sent out Michael Brockers, Janoris Jenkins, Alec Ogletree, Greg Robinson, Stedman Bailey and Zac Stacy as the players for the coin toss. That group of players were all acquired from picks in the Griffin trade and ESPN writes that the move was a way for the Rams to chide the Redskins about the deal.
