The Chicago Bulls are currently working on a deal to sign guard Nate Robinson, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.
Robinson's agent, Aaron Goodwin said the should be finalized "barring unforeseen problems," will likely pay the eight-year veteran the veteran's minimum of $1.2 million for next season.
In past seasons, Robinson has proven to be a prolific scorer. In 2008-09 he averaged a career high 17.2 points per a game for the Knicks. In spite of standing just 5-foot-9, Robinson also is the only player in NBA history to win the slam dunk contest three times.
The seven year vet averaged 11.2 points and 4.5 assists per game last season for the Golden State Warriors.
If the signing does indeed take place, this will be the 28-year-old's fifth team since the 2009-10 campaign after he played previously with New York, Boston, Oklahoma City, and the Warriors.
He will join guard Kirk Hinrich in the Bulls Rose-less backcourt, expected to last just the first half of the season.
Hinrich, who signed a two-year, $8 million deal last week with the Bulls, spent his first seven seasons in Chicago before he was traded to Washington in June 2010 and later traded to Atlanta in Feb. 2011.
