The LA Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves are playing live on the NBA schedule on Sunday night and the matchup from the Target Center has Los Angeles travelling to their original team state as Kobe Bryant and Jeremy Lin come in after getting a rare win and they will try and make it two in a row against the Wolves and things start up at 7 pm ET.
The Lakers come into the game after a win against the Spurs in overtime and now the team is 7-16 on the season and they at least can look back on that as a quality win. Nick Young hit a huge three at the end and he had 29 points to lead Los Angeles, while Carlos Boozer was tops with 13 rebounds and Kobe had nine assists. The team has been getting some strong play from Bryant this season and he is leading the team in scoring and he has been pushing his teammates hard in practice.
The Lakers next play against the Pacers on the schedule and they are currently in fifth place in the Pacific division this season. The team is ranked 10th in points per game this season and 15th in rebounds and they are 21st in assists per game as well. The Lakers are challenging for the bottom of the league and they are hoping that a high draft pick and a strong free agent class can help turn things around quickly over the next couple years.
The Lakers are the worst defensive team in the league and they are allowing 110 points per game this season. The Wolves come into the game after a loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder and they will next play against the Wizards after a matchup with the Lakers and they are 5-17 on the season. The Wolves expected to be a bit better, but they have struggled and they think they have a strong star in the future in Andrew Wiggins.
