The San Antonio Spurs and Portland Trail Blazers are playing live on the NBA schedule on Monday night and the matchup from the Moda Center has two of the top teams in the west playing with Tim Duncan, LaMarcus Aldridge and Tony Parker in action and things top off after 10 pm ET.
The Spurs come into the game after a win against the Denver Nuggets and they will play against the Grizzlies next in a big matchup of division rivals. The Spurs come in after a win against Denver and they are now 17-7 on the season and third in the southwest division with the Houston Rockets and Memphis Grizzlies. The team is second in points allowed this season and in the top 10 in assists per game and rebounds and they are looking for Kawhi Leonard to step up against Portland.
Leonard has played very well this season and he comes in after leading the team in scoring with 18 points and he has the chance to be the centerpiece a bit more now. The Blazers are first in the northwest division this season and they are 18-6 on the year and they will next play against the Bucks after winning against the Pacers. LaMarcus Aldridge has played very well this season and he comes in after scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds against Indiana.
The Trail Blazers are averaging over 100 points per game and they have been very impressive on defense, ranking fifth in points allowed. The team is first in rebounds per game this season and they are also ranked in the top 10 in assists per game. Aldridge is averaging a double double this season with 22 points and 10 rebounds and they are 18-6 on the season and are looking to get farther in the playoffs after winning in the first round and upsetting the Houston Rockets last year. The Spurs and Blazers played after that and San Antonio of course won and now the Blazers are hoping to get a little revenge with a win here.
