Olympics 2012 Men's Water Polo Results: Serbia Defeats Austrial in Comeback, Advances to Semifinals

It was a close one between Australia and Serbia. The Serbs were down and they did not give up as they rallied to come from behind and win the match advancing to the Men's Water Polo Semifinals

Serbia went on a rampage to score the last six goals of the match for the 11-8 victory.

The Australians took  an 8-6 lead into the last quarter and they could not capitalize on the advantage.

Serbia attacked on offense and played magnificent defense.

The Serbians scored quickly in the fourth quarter. With just over a minute into the period Dusko Pijetlovic brought them a point closer, making the score 8-7. 

Andrija Prlainovic scored a goal to tie the game less than two minutes later. Filip Filipovic followed with a goal at the 4:19 mark to give his team the advantage.

With 1:21 left in the match Milan Aleksic gave Serbia the 10-8 and just for good measure as time was running out Stefan metrovic added another score as the Serbs scored their last goal of the game. 

Zivko Gocic and Andrija Prolainovic both finished with two goals in the match as they led Serbia in scoring. 

It was a great comeback as the Serbs were down 5-2 in the half of the match and went into the third quarter down 7-4.

They held Australia to one goal in the third and fourth quarters while scoring seven of their own.

Serbia will now wait for victor between Italy and Hungary.
