As the 2012 London Olympics continue, China leads the pack with the U.S. trailing not too far behind. China now has a total of 76 medals while the United States has 73.

China has won 35 gold, 22 silver and 19 bronze. The United States has 30 gold, 20 silver and 23 bronze.

In third place, Russia with a total of 50; 11 gold, 18 silver and 21 bronze medals. Great Britain trails them with 48; 22 gold, 13 silver and 13 bronze.

Germany has 32 and have landed in 5th place. They own 7 gold with 15 silver and 10 bronze medals.

Usain Bolt of Jamaica edged closer to "legendary" status by easing into the men's 200 metres final on Wednesday to secure his chances at the unprecedented Olympic sprint double-double.

The 25-year-old world record holder finished his semifinal in 20.18 seconds after slowing down in the closing stages.

Bolt's remaining obstacles in his way to the ultimate crown are, his compatriot and this year's fastest man Yohan Blake and America's Wallace Spearmon as both progressed from the first heat, with Blake looking impressive before easing down for a time of 20.01.
