No one thought the Atlanta Hawks would be here, but on Wednesday night the team will attempt to tie a franchise-long win streak of 14 games as they face off against the Indiana Pacers. The Hawks continue to shock the NBA and likely their fan base as they sit on top of the Eastern Conference, looking more and more like a legitimate playoff contender with each game. The Pacers have lost five games straight including four road games, but they will not let that stop their motivation to end the momentum of the Hawks.

Atlanta got a spot no national television and took advantage as a soldout crowd watch the team take down the Detroit Pistons, extending their win streak. Atlanta has not had this kind of success since 1993 which was the last time the team was in first place in the Eastern Conference. Now they face a Pacers team they have beaten twice this season, continuing to get revenge for last year's postseason exit.

The Pacers' issues rest in their defense. The team has given up an average of 101.5 points per game in their last eight. In the loss to the Houston Rockets, they allowed the team to shoot 51.4 percent overall while James Harden added 45 points. This comes after they fell victim to a 52-point performance from Mo Williams as the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Pacers 110-101. Brandon Jennings got 37 points against the team last Friday. Indiana continues to fall victim to a sharp shooter which could be an issues when facing Kyle Korver who is currently dominating from beyond the 3-point line.

Indiana is not get much help from their offense either. The team is averaging just 95.0 points per game which is partially blamed by an injury to George Hill. The point guard has sat out the past 10 games with a groin injury and it is uncertain if he will play against Atlanta or not. He has missed the past two games against the team.
